Camping mats provide an extra layer of luxury between you and the ground. It can also keep you warmer than you would be if you were to place your sleeping bag directly on the cold ground.

There are several types of camping mats available, so you can definitely find one that suits your needs. First, you can purchase an inflatable mat that is inflated by a pump, or by your breaths.

If you choose the kind you inflate manually, they are usually lightweight and do not take much time to inflate or deflate. There are also self-inflating mats that are slightly more expensive but give you the added convenience of not having to take the time to inflate them yourself.

Finally, you can purchase a foam mat or latex mattress which is cheap and lightweight. The foam type of mat keeps you warm, but may not be as comfortable as the inflatable ones.

Another piece of luxury you should consider packing when you go camping are lightweight camping chairs. After an active day outdoors, comfortable chairs will help you relax and unwind. Since they are lightweight, the chairs are easy to carry with you.  Don’t forget the 5 gallon water jugs too.
