Weight loss can be a struggle for many people. They have tried diets, DVDs, weight loss machines, weight loss books and dangerous diet pills. Some people have even had invasive weight loss surgeries and have still be unable to keep the weight off. The problem is, none of these things helps your body to burn fat properly. Even running miles and miles a day doesn’t help. There is one type of exercise that helps you to lose weight rapidly by building up muscle, which your body uses to burn fat. I will focus on this type of exercise , and show you why you need to do this type instead of cardio.
Resistance training is is the best way to lose weight fast. Otherwise known as strength training, it is using various exercises to build lean muscle mass. One of the most popular ways is to use free weights, but you are not limited to those. You can also use resistance bands and weight machines. Even your own body weight can be used to provide resistance with exercises such as lunges, push ups, and sit ups. By adding more resistance for your muscle, it breaks down the muscle and allows it to grow back again stronger. This process burns calories itself, but the new muscle mass helps your body to continually burn fat while you re working out, and even when you aren’t working out.
But what about cardio exercises? With all of the treadmills and elliptical machines at the gym, you would think that cardio is an important part of weight loss, but it really isn’t. The problem with cardio is that your body actually becomes better at it, as well as more efficient. If you’re training for a race, then you should definitely do cardio. The problem with your body’s efficiency when it comes to weight loss, is that it doesn’t use as much energy to do the same exercises after a few times. The energy you need to burn though is fat, so if you’re burning less fat each time, you’re doing more work for less results.
Stick with resistance training if weight loss is your goal, and you’ll see that you are able to lose weight rapidly.
