The first time I encountered this type of photo paper, I really wondered what it was intended for. As far as I know, canvas papers are used by artists in doing oil paintings. So what does this one intended for? Are they meant for photo printers with oil-based ink? On the second thought, I doubt if there exist such a type of printer ink.

To answer my curiosity about this canvas photo paper, I did some readings on the internet and found out some of the basic qualities of this printing paper. And then to find out more, I did a little experiment.

I started off this experiment by purchasing some canvas photo papers on a local store. I then and printed some pictures stored on my computer. After seeing the results, I have found out that this type of photo paper is really good to use. Here are some of things I learned about it from my readings and from the experiment I did.

A canvas photo paper is not really that different compared with other types of photo paper. It is still comparable with them, only it is designed to make your printed photos look like they were done by an oil painting artist. The texture of this paper is like that of a conventional canvas paper making it possible to convert any of your pictures, be old or new, appear as if they were hand painted.

Another reason why a lot of people use this type of paper is that it is more durable than the other types. It can preserve your photos for a very long period of time, even for a century if given with enough care. With this, you can still view the happy memories you had even as you grow old and share them with future generations.
